Hi, I'm Heather, Based in Charleston, SC, I photograph clients throughout South Carolina and regularly travel to Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Ocala, Florida for equine & dog portrait commissions.

I am the photographer and owner of Heather Johnson Photo. Horses and dogs are the subjects I love photographing most. My work combines an understanding of light, animal behavior, and the emotional connection people share with their horses and dogs.

My goal is to create portraits that tell the story of that bond—the quiet moments, trust, a partnership, and the love that make these relationships so special.

Based in Charleston, South Carolina, I serve clients throughout South Carolina, including Aiken, Camden, and the Upstate, I also serve flordia; Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Ocala, and Wellington, Florida, and destinations beyond. I also travel for equestrian events and horse shows.

As a lifelong equestrian and dog owner, I understand how much these animals mean to the people who love them. Every session is approached with patience, safety, and respect for both horse and owner

What are your hours?

Our hours are 90 minutes before sunrise or sunset ifor outdoor horse or dog portraits if you are looking for white or black backgrounds we set up in your barn aisle or in a run in or a wash stall. If you are looking for a dog studio portrait we offer them at our down town studio in Charleston on Sundays or we can offer them in your home as a studio portrait or a lifestyle approach, we also offer on-location portraits.

Where are you located?

I am located in Charleston, South Carolina. We offer studo dog portraits and for horses we create a studio in your barn or offer outdoor horse and rider portraits. I often offer portraits, out of town as well in SC, NC, Florida, and Georgia. I am located at 1316 Rutledge Ave. Charleston, SC 29401.

Do you accept appointments?

Our wait time is 12-24 hours. We get back in touch with you to help you book your portrait session.
